Collett nominated for West Point
Henry "Hank" Collett, a senior at Marion High School, was nominated this past week to attend the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., by U.S. Senator Pat Roberts.
Sen. Roberts nominated 32 Kansas high school seniors for West Point, Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy after receiving recommendations from the Academy Screening Board.
The board, made up of seven volunteers from Kansas, conducted personal interviews with the applicants, as well as reviewed their written applications, GPA, and standardized test scores.
Collett now must meet all the individual requirements of the military academy, and not all nominees will be chosen.
Collett is the son of Keith and Anne Collett of Marion.
