Committee raises first $40,000 for park equipment years ago
Central Park Improvement Committee has reached its first goal of raising at least $40,000.
Since September, the committee has raised $45,000 for new playground equipment at Central Park.
Numerous community fund-raisers were held during the past three months in support of the project.
The next goal is to raise the remaining $30,000 by the end of February 2008 for the primary piece of equipment.
Individuals and businesses may purchase individual play equipment for the park.
These items range in price from $300 to $4,000.
Bricks for $50 and stones for $125 also are available.
