Computer classes available in Florence

Scott Zogelman will be teaming up with Florence Library in coming weeks to offer computer classes to interested adults in the Florence community.

"We hope to cover Word, Excel, e-mail, Internet, E-Bay, and "How do I turn my computer on?" said Zogelman. "There are quite a few people out there who have computers at home, but who don't know what to do with them, other than the bare essentials."

Zogelman said the class will be geared toward adults because today's young people already get what they need in school.

A sign-up meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Florence Library. The class will be open to four to six individuals with seven classes planned. The group will meet each Tuesday and Wednesday evening for three weeks and then meet on a Sunday afternoon.

If more than six people sign up, another class session will be scheduled for February.

"It is just for fun," said Zogelman. "No one gets any certification or credit for taking the course.

"There will be a minimal cost for each class. Just to pay for paper, the printers, etc. If there is anything left over we will give it to the library to go toward the utilities we use," he added.
