Conyers earns honors at art shows, galleries

McPherson College professor Wayne Conyers currently has works on display this summer.

The Marion High School graduate has works on display that include 15 watercolors through Sunday at Sandzen Gallery, Lindsborg; Kansas Watercolor Society Great 8 Exhibition through Sept. 17, Wichita Art Museum; Watercolor USA exhibition through Aug. 6 at Springfield Art Museum, Springfield, Mo., where one of his paintings was selected as an award winner; and Watercolor Now exhibit through Aug. 31 at Park Central Gallery, Springfield, Mo.

During May, Conyers was the featured guest artist at Gallery XII in Wichita. In April he was honored to have two paintings included in the juried Prairie Arts Exhibition in Sterling. One of his painting received a merit award.

Conyers was asked to jury two high school art league competitions where 300 pieces of art work from eight-10 schools were judged.

WSU names spring grads

Area students who graduated this spring from Wichita State University include Rebecca Hill, master of social work; Landon Jordan, bachelor of arts; Jennifer Rudolph, bachelor of arts in education; and Ashley Soyez, bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, all of Goessel.

From Hillsboro, Andy Bartel, bachelor of arts in education, magna cum laude and Randall Heidel, master of education.

From Lost Springs, Mary Ann Smith, bachelor of general studies, magna cum laude and Andrea Stahlecker, bachelor of science in nursing, magna cum laude.

From Marion, Jennifer Nuessen, bachelor of business administration; Evan Sharp, associate of arts; Glenda Webster bachelor of arts and undergraduate certificate, magna cum laude; and Havilah Wilcox, associate of science in dental hygiene.
