Cougar track: Kristek, Troutt, Kemble lead at Bluestem

Adam Kristek's quick legs and Trevor Trout's strong arms led the way for the Centre High School boys' track team April 15 at the Bluestem High School invitational track meet at Leon.

Kristek won the 100-meter dash in 22 seconds and the 300m in 56.03.

Troutt won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, five and one-quarter inches, and the discus with a throw of 119-8.

Rustyn Kerbs finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:32.15.

A CHS relay team placed second in the 4x400 with a finish of 4:29.98.

The team finished in third place, just two points behind Burrton. Other schools represented were Haven, which finished in first place, and Sedgwick.

On the girls' team, Hannah Kemble placed first in shot put with a throw of 31-6.75. She was followed by Josie Peterson with a throw of 28.5-5.75.

Kylie Burhoop garnered second-place finishes in triple jump, 30-10, and in long jump, 14-5. Carlye Simons placed second in the 100m dash with a time of 13.54.

The team placed third behind Burrton and Bluestem.
