Marion County Commission approved purchases of equipment Monday for the county road and bridge department.

The purchase of a flatbed trailer for hauling equipment was approved for a Nevillbuilt trailer for $14,345 from Chuck Henry Sales of Solomon. County road and bridge superintendent Jim Herzet will review specifications.

If specifications are not satisfactory, the commission approved the purchase of a Holden trailer from Sellers Tractor of Wichita for $17,634.

A third bid for $18,600 for an Eager Beaver trailer from Murphy Tractor of Wichita also was noted.

Prior to approval, Herzet assured the commission the trailer was needed and will make work crews more efficient.

White Star of Wichita was the low bidder at $47,269 for a skid-steer loader.
