Countywide variety show is Saturday

The first event planned by Marion County Community Theatre Company will be a variety show from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Marion Auditorium, 203 N. Third, Marion.

Marion County residents will provide a variety of entertainment including Kelsey Unruh and her band from Hillsboro, drummer Joel Zeiner of Marion, singer-songwriter Barbara Anderson of Burns, and The Greenhorns with band members from Goessel.

Anderson has a CD, "Under the Kansas Sky" and The Greenhorns, with Goessel residents K.D. "Smitty" Schmidt and Rollin Schmidt, have a CD, "Old Gold."

Marion High School forensics team will perform between acts.

Refreshments will be served during intermission and performers will be available to visit with the public, offer music for sale, booking information, and autographs.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for K-12, and pre-schoolers are admitted free. All proceeds will go toward future shows.

A survey will be provided at the conclusion of the show to assist theatre company members in scheduling future events.
