Couple wed in outdoor ceremony

Tim and Ellie Gittings

Ellie Barta-Moran and Tim Gittings were married in July 2004, in an outdoor ceremony at Bailey's Harbor, Door County, Wis.

The bride is the daughter of Paula Barta and Mike Moran of Marion. Her husband is the son of Susan Gittings of River Forest, Ill., and Tom Gittings of Evanston, Ill.

Richard Carlson and Jolene Bergstrom-Carlson officiated at the ceremony.

Mike Moran and Susan Gittings were vocalists. Musicians were Aldus Weible, violinist, and Matt Walters, guitarist.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory silk floor-length gown featuring an empire waist.

She carried pink Gerber daisies, lavender Edwardian roses, and rosemary, sage, lavender, and eucalyptus.

Katie Barta-Moran of Chicago, Ill., was her sister's maid of honor.

Andrew Carlson of Lafayette, Ind., served as best man.

A reception was held in the outdoor garden of Door Shakespeare, a clearing in a wooded area on the banks of Lake Michigan.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Emporia State University. She is a social worker.

Her husband is a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School and Ft. Lewis College, Durango, Colo. He is a graduate student at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and is an actor.

The couple lives in Montgomery, Ala.
