CVL wins district tournament
The nine-year-old Cottonwood Valley League All-Stars won both of their district four games this past weekend at Lyons to move on to the state tournament at Haysville.
CVL defeated Lyons in a best-of-three format, 28-13 and 12-2.
Jarrett Johnson won the WOW award Friday in the team's first game, and the MVP was given to Cole Srajer.
In the championship game, Peyton Heidebrecht won the MVP award, while Dylan Deines earned the WOW award.
CVL will begin state tournament play July 25 at Haysville.
