Dahl, Craft first to file for election
With less than six weeks before the filing deadline, only two local candidates have committed to running for office.
Kansas State Representative Don Dahl of Hillsboro, a Republican, will seek his fourth term as representative of District 70.
Republican Robert P. Craft of rural Marion has filed for the office of Marion County Sheriff.
The filing deadline is June 10. If a primary election is needed, it will be Aug. 5, with the general election Nov. 4.
A primary election will be required if there is more than one candidate from the same political party running for the same office.
