David Suffield

David L. Suffield, 64, died July 22, 2006, at his home in Lincolnville.

Born July 13, 1942, at Peabody, he was the son of Lloyd and Mildred (Ubben) Suffield. He grew up in the Peabody area and graduated from Burns High School.

On March 4, 1983, he married Tamara Loveless at Marion.

He was a diesel mechanic at KDOT from 1983 to 1991. He also worked for Herington Tractor and Eddy's Toyota.

He was a cub master for the Cub Scouts for Centre USD 397.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher; and sister, Sharolyn Hett.

Survivors include his wife, Tamara of Hillsboro; five sons, Dustin and Dale of Wichita, Dwayne of Burns, Rodney Barnett of Wamego, and Anthony of Marion; three daughters, Nichole Suffield and Roxanne Suffield, both of Hillsboro and Donna Suffield of Burns; two brothers, Gerald of Sublette and Edwin "Butch" of Peabody; three sisters, Wilma Hybsha of Newton, Juanita Birkle of Marion, and Linda Olsen of Newton; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion, with the Rev. Nancy Douglas and John Hybsha officiating.

Burial was in Claney Cemetery, rural Marion.

A memorial fund has been established with the American Cancer Society.
