Davis receives service promotion
U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. James D. Davis recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Corps Forces Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
Davis was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.
A 1987 graduate of Gardner-Edgerton High School, Gardner, Davis joined the Marine Corps in July 1989. He is a 1988 graduate of Ottawa University, and a 2004 graduate of School of Advanced Military Studies, Leavenworth.
Davis is the son of Cheri Peifer of Bonner Springs, and James S. Davis of Burns.
