Dechant, Reece married

Hollie Michelle Dechant of Holcomb and Casey Joseph Reece of Hillsboro were married June 12, 2004, at Garden Valley Mennonite Church in Garden City. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Steve Ensz.

The bride's parents are Steve and Shelli Dechant of Holcomb. She is the granddaughter of Frances Norris, Garden City; the late Tom Norris; and Marvin and Clara Dechant of Ness City, formerly of Garden City.

The groom's parents are Charlie and Cindy Reece of Hillsboro. His grandparents are Gary and Shirley Carlson of Marion; Ed and LaQuetta Siebert, also of Marion; and Chuck Reece of Oklahoma City. His great grandparents are T. Ray and Helen Cox of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown with a white satin bodice and halter covered in pearls and sequins with a grand cathedral length train. She carried a half moon bouquet of red roses accented with a great-grandmother's handkerchief.

Maid of honor was Hope Dechant, the bride's sister from Holcomb. Matron of honor was Hilarey Friesen, the bride's sister from Naples, Fla. Bridesmaids were Danielle Dickson, Holcomb, and Julie Wall, Hillsboro.

Junior bridesmaid was Alyssa Walts, Fort Collins, Colo.

Crystal Perez of Park City was the bride's personal attendant.

Best man was Chip Reece, the groom's brother from Alton, Iowa.

Groomsmen were Jesse Janzen, Caleb Dirks, and Matt Unger, all of Hillsboro.

Junior groomsman was Chance Reece, brother of the groom.

Candle lighters were Kevin and Kyle Larson, both of Garden City.

They also served as ushers along with Travis Friesen of Naples and Jake Lauer of Holcomb.

Nennah Vainerere was the flower girl and Jonah Vainerere served as ringbearer, both of Garden City.

Musicians were Charlene Davis, organist, and Sue Neufeld and Tim Davis, pianists, all of Garden City. Musical selections were performed by Matt Paxson, Billee Koehn, and Hannah Proffitt, all of Garden City; Amy Reece of Alton; and a surprise solo by the groom to the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the couple's parents at Fiesta Courtyard in Garden City.

Reception assistants were Shirley, Carla, Jessi, and Chelsea Carlson, all of Marion, and Jessica Siebert, Emporia. Chassidy and Melissa Carlson of Marion were the gift table attendants.

The bride graduated from Holcomb High School in 2002, attended Tabor College, and is currently attending Emporia State University.

The groom graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2002, attended ESU and Tabor College, and is currently a student at ESU. He is employed at Sherwin Williams Paint, Emporia.

After a wedding trip to San Antonio, Texas, the couple are at home in Emporia.
