Diehl, Summervill are wed Feb. 5 in Alma church

Amy Cathleen Diehl and Timothy Scott Summervill were married at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 5, 2005, at St. John Lutheran Church, Alma.

The bride is the daughter of Darwin and Joyce Diehl and the granddaughter of Nina Diehl, all of Alma.

The groom is the son of Mick and Marge Summervill and the grandson of Millie Summervill, all of Marion.

The Rev. Robert Grimm officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin dress with beading that outlined the short sleeve, scoop neckline bodice. The waistband was accented by a scroll pattern embroidery that was lightly beaded. Her plain princess-cut skirt was finished with buttons down the semi-cathedral-length train. She carried a cascading bouquet of red roses, white calla lilies, stephanotis, and ivy.

Lesa Dierking of Marysville was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lori Morton of Edwardsville, Karen Write of Alma, and Amber Ellis of Farlington.

They wore short-sleeved, red satin dresses that featured scooped necklines with accent beading and a beaded band around the empire waist. Each carried a single white calla lily.

Rodney Summervill of Hutchinson served his cousin as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Padgham of Dallas, Texas, Matt Bengston of Wichita, and Shawn Hollon of Independence, Mo.

The bride's niece, Allison Dierking of Marysville, was honorary flower girl. Colin Totten of Gresham, Ore., the groom's nephew, was honorary ring bearer.

Candlelighters were the groom's sister, Kay Lynn Mead of Manhattan and the bride's cousin, Debbie Schwalm of Nortonville.

Guests were seated by Brian Crowe of Wichita and the groom's brother-in-law, Nathan Mead of Manhattan.

Angie Schwalm of Nortonville attended the guest book. Marilyn Schwalm, also of Nortonville, was in charge of gifts.

Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner, and dance were held at the Blue Hills Room, Manhattan.

Reception attendants were the groom's sister, Robin Totten of Gresham, Ore., Jennifer Haller of Alma, Carrie Magette of Paxico, and Beth Paskar of Springfield, Mo.

Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple lives in rural Marion.
