Donald McCarty
Donald E. McCarty, 65, died Feb. 3, 2005, at his home near Marion.
Born May 10, 1939, at Marion, he was the son of Gene and Vera (Keazer) McCarty.
He was an oil field worker and welder.
On March 9, 1958, he married Mary Cogdill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a niece.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Marion; three sons, Donny Gene McCarty of Cimarron, Larry McCarty of Hillsboro, and Tate and Brandy McCarty of Marion; six daughters, Jeanne and Doug Penner, Barbara and Steve Hein, Susan and Dan Bernhardt, all of Hillsboro, Connie Williams of Marion, Traci and Craig Meier of Lakewood, Colo., and Kim and Mike Melichar of Hutchinson; a brother, Larry McCarty of Maple Lake, Minn.; a sister, Dorothy Stubby of Newton; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Memorial funds have been established with Central Care Cancer Center of Newton.
