Doris Miller
Doris M. Miller, 73, of Newton, died March 26, 2005.
The daughter of Marcellus and Bernice (Bailey) Gilmer, she was born Aug. 18, 1931, at Burns.
On April 3, 1949, she married Mark Miller at Newton.
She was a member of Hillcrest Community Church, Newton. She was a trained licensed practical nurse and office worker.
Survivors include her husband, Mark of Newton; a son, Mark Miller of Strong City; daughter, Brenda Brackeen of Newton; brother, Marcellus Jerry Gilmer of Eagle Point, Ore.; sister, Iola Fern Russell of Sedgwick; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Hillcrest Community Foursquare Church with Pastor Jason Reynolds and the Rev. Marcellus Jerry Gilmer officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
A memorial fund has been established at the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University.
