Dorothy Schmersey
Dorothy Schmersey, 89, died June 26, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas.
Born Aug. 1, 1914, at Chanute, she was the daughter of James R. and Lona (Carter) Hines.
On April 12, 1936, she married Art Schmersey at Enterprise. He died in 1995.
A housewife and homemaker, she was a member of Valley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Schmersey of Ransom Canyon, Texas, and Paul Schmersey of New Zealand; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion, with the Rev. Henry Murray officiating.
Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
