Dorothy Wilson

Dorothy N. Snelling Wilson, 89, of Potwin, died March 9, 2006, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado.

Born Jan. 19, 1917, on the family homestead in Chase County, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma (Silver) Sidener.

She grew up in the Wonsevu area, attending schools there and graduating from Burns High School in 1935.

On Jan. 18, 1936, she married Richard Snelling at Hillsboro. The couple lived near Florence. He died in 1994.

On Oct. 14, 1995, she married Woodrow Wilson and the couple lived in Potwin. He died in 2005.

She was a homemaker and waitress at Town & Country Café, Florence, for nearly 17 years. She was a member of the Singing Grannies in Marion for four years. She attended Potwin United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; six brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and Donna Snelling of El Dorado and Dale and Loretta Snelling of Marion; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Zeiner Funeral Home Chapel, Florence.

Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

A memorial fund has been established with the Children's Miracle Network.
