Driver arrested for DUI

At 4:27 a.m. Aug. 28, Marion Police Officer James Parmley observed a parked vehicle in a lane of traffic at Highland and Cedar streets with the headlights off and engine running. Parmley approached the vehicle and saw two people passed out in the front seat. The officer could smell alcohol. He woke up the driver and passenger. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and driving, and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail.

At 12:45 p.m. Aug. 28, an individual struck another individual in the face with his fist in the 200 block of North Freeborn Street, reported Marion Police Officer Howard Kahler.

At 9:45 p.m. Sept. 4, an individual was stopped by Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil on U.S.-77 and Kimball Street, Florence, for failure to stop at a stop sign and use turn signal. The individual failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.
