Earl Forsberg

Earl Edward Forsberg, 82, of Burdick, died Sept. 20, 2005, at Morris County Hospital.

Born Aug. 26, 1923, near Burdick, he was the son of Arthur and Huldah (Johnson) Forsberg.

He graduated from Diamond Valley Rural High School. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

On Sept. 24, 1947, he married Evelyn Schump at Herington.

He was a member of Colberg-Smith American Legion Post, Burdick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter, Sierra Forsberg.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Burdick; son, Dean Forsberg of Burdick; two daughters, Bonnie Sue Hefner of Wagoner, Okla., and Jane Rickenbrode of Council Grove; a brother, William Forsberg of Atchison; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Burdick United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Diamond Springs Cemetery.

An Earl Forsberg Memorial Fund has been established.
