Earl McGinness

The Rev. Earl F. McGinness, 90, died March 22, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center, Lyons.

Born Oct. 10, 1915, at Aulne, he was the son of William and Nancy (Larsen) McGinness.

He graduated from Marion High School, Southwestern College, and Garrett Evangelical Seminary, Chicago.

He was a retired minister.

On Dec. 20, 1942, he married Katharine Dayton at Haviland. She died in 1998.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Steinert.

Survivors include two sons, Michael McGinness of Maxwell, Iowa., and Clare McGinness of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Betty Braker of Arlington Heights, Ill., Trish Frees of Bushton, and Ina McMullen of Portales, N.M.; brother, Edward McGinness of Aulne; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were held Saturday morning at Aulne United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bethann Black officiating.

Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

A memorial fund has been established with the Alzheimer's Foundation.
