Edwin Weibert
Edwin Duane Weibert, 89, died March 8, 2008, in California.
Born March 31, 1918, at Durham, he was the son of Pete and Molly Weibert.
Eddie was raised in Durham and moved to California in 1938. He worked at a café until World War II began, joined the U.S. Army Air Corps.
After the war, Eddie went into the construction business with his brother, Fred, in Fresno, Calif.
He married his wife Hazel in 1941. She died in 2000.
The couple owned and operated a coffee shop for more than 26 years in Fresno until their retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Arlen and wife Gayle of North Fork, Calif., and Dennis and wife Katy of Clovis, Calif; four grandsons; two step-granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held March 14 at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
Memorial funds have been established with Peoples Church Youth Program, 7172 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
