Elizabeth Hiebert
Elizabeth R. Hiebert, 90, of Erie, died Jan. 10, 2007, at Labette County Medical Center, Parsons.
Born Aug. 2, 1916, at Osborne, she was the daughter of James and Mary (Cornwell) Grubb. She grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School.
On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Orlie Hiebert at Los Angeles, Calif. They moved to Erie in 1951. He died in 1980.
She was an operator for the telephone company in Marion and Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bruce Hiebert; and five brothers, George, Jack, Dick, Dan, and David Dale.
Survivors include a son, Dean Hiebert of Geneseo, Ill.; two daughters, Lori Shue of Savonburg and Karen Walters of Erie; two sisters, Mary Herbert of Wichita and Edna Toews of Inman; brother, James Grubb of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel, Chanute.
Burial was in Odense Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with Neosho County 4-H Council.
