Ellie Zerger

Eleanor "Ellie" Zerger, 81, of Marion, died Oct. 4, 2007.

Born April 6, 1926, at Elyria, she was the daughter of David and Caroline (Stucky) Voth.

On Sept. 7, 1944, she married Reuben Zerger near Moundridge. In 1954, they moved to the Marion area.

She worked at Oeschlager's Furniture, Baker Furniture & Carpet, and Main Street Flowers. She also owned an in-home catering business, The Wheatstone Inn.

She was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ervin and Earl; and sister, Aletha.

Survivors include her husband, Reuben of Marion; two daughters, Roxanne Balcacer of Richmond, Mo., and Julie Carr of Fresno, Calif.; one son, Tim Zerger of Bend, Ore.; sister, Eva Neufeld of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted Monday morning at Marion Presbyterian Church with Pastor Keith Allison officiating.

A private family inurnment was conducted at Eden Mennonite Cemetery, rural Moundridge.

Memorial funds have been established with Marion Presbyterian Church Camp scholarship fund or Lost & Found, a Marion community high school youth group.
