Emil Pospisil

Emil A. Pospisil, 96, died Oct. 18, 2007, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Born June 5, 1911, near Lost Springs, he was the son of Alois and Francis (Benda) Pospisil.

He was raised in the Lost Springs community and attended school there. After graduation he farmed with his father and in the early 1930s worked in the oil fields around Lost Springs. In the 1960s he moved to Wichita and was employed at Gard'N Wise.

On Nov. 7, 1962 he married Dorothy Farrar at Wichita. She died in 1996.

He also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Judy Pollard; and two sisters, Irene Krch and Helen Schwartzman.

Survivors include a stepson, Ralph Farrar of Ferndale, Wash.; four sisters, Evelyn Strecker of Lost Springs, Stella Kohler of Silver Springs, Md., Victoria Zell of Shelby, Mont., and Lorena Pospisil of Libuse, La.; and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at Downing and Lahey East Chapel, Wichita.

Burial was in White Chapel Cemetery, Wichita.
