Esther Loy
Esther Wilma Loy, 81, of McPherson, died Feb. 4, 2008.
Born Dec. 19, 1926, at Tampa, she was the daughter of Phillip and Elsie (Bruns) Bentz.
She attended grade school and high school at Tampa and received degrees from Bethany College and Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia.
On Aug. 24, 1947, she married Harvey Loy at St. John Lutheran Church, Tampa.
She was an elementary school teacher for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary; two sisters, Ella Riffel and Dorothy Bentz; and five brothers, Clarence, Phil, Erwin, Paul, and Arnold Bentz.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey of McPherson; brother, Otto Bentz of Tampa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at Moundridge United Methodist Church.
Burial was in Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge.
Memorial funds have been established with Moundridge United Methodist Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
