Eva Jane Miller

Eva Jane Miller, 81, lifelong resident of Lost Springs, died March 10, 2007, at her home.

Born Dec. 18, 1925, at Hymer, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Ramsey) Hailey.

She was a homemaker and former member of Lost Springs United Methodist Church.

In 1944, she married John Varelman. He died in 1971.

On Jan. 21, 1973, she married W.O. "Rusty" Miller at Lost Springs. He died in 1995.

She also is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles "Bud" Hailey, Austin Hailey, and Bill Hailey; three sisters, Margaret McPhail, Dorothy Hailey, and Grace Smith; two stepbrothers; a stepsister; and her parents.

Survivors include two sons, John Varelman of Lost Springs and Jerry Varelman of Lake Arrowhead, Texas; daughter, Joyce Flood of Norman, Ark.; two sisters, Dottie Olsen of Logan, Ind., and Ruthie Sollner of Burdick; brother, Alvin Hailey of Elmdale; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lost Springs Cemetery with Pastor Devin Wendt officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Herington Municipal Hospital.
