F. Warren Macy

Frank Warren Macy, 95, of Marion, died Oct. 8, 2007.

Born July 21, 1912, on the family farm in Ash Rock Township of Rooks County, he was the son of James and Laura (Thomas) Macy.

On Aug. 7, 1936, he married Florence Barry at Codell.

He was teacher, then principal at Washington Elementary School at Hays for 27 years. After retirement, he continued to teach with the GED program at Hays.

After living at Hays for 54 years, he and Florence relocated to Marion in 2003, to be near their daughter, Margaret.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Florence of Marion; son, Harold of Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Canada; daughter, Margaret Wilson of Marion; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A prayer service was conducted Sunday afternoon at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, with Pastor X. Phil Smith officiating.

Inurnment will be a private family ceremony at a later date.

Memorial funds have been established with Hays United Methodist Church at Hays and Valley United Methodist Church and Golden Living Center, Marion.
