Family dinner, reception honors 60th anniversary years ago
Raymond and Rita Kraus of Marion observed their 60th wedding anniversary May 22.
They were married at St. Mark's Catholic Church, St. Mark, in 1946. They began farming on the Kraus family farm west of Wichita. In 1951, they moved to a farm northeast of Marion, where they continued to farm until their retirement this past year.
Family members joined them May 21 for Sunday Mass at Holy Family Parish where the couple received a special blessing by Father Hien Nguyen.
They celebrated with a family dinner at Wichita, followed by an afternoon reception for relatives at the home of Paul and Diane Kraus at Derby.
Hosting the event were the couple's six children, Alice and Allen Trego of Hampshire, Ill., Dennis and Joyce Kraus of Wichita, Paul and Diane Kraus of Derby, and Don and Vickie Kraus, Leroy and Ronda Kraus, and Lori Herzet, all of Marion. The Kraus' have 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
