FFA chapter auctions members

Members of Marion-Florence FFA Chapter were sold Thursday evening during the annual FFA Alumni Work Auction. Thirty-five members of the local chapter were "sold" for an eight-hour work day to businesses and members of the community.

The FFA chapter sponsored a barbecued hog meal for all potential bidders before the auction.

More than 100 attended the meal and auction. Auctioneers were Roger Hiebert and Lyle Leppke.

Individuals who purchased FFA members included Don Kraus, Lou Wegerer, Charles Seifert, DuWayne Suffield, Matt Kukuk, Clifford Hett, Keith Collett, Greg Bowers, Willard Hett, Tyler Miesse, Robert Kristek, Lee Leiker, Mark Meisinger, Leland Seifert, Gary Williams, and Brad Putter.

Local businesses who purchased members were Spur Ridge Veterinary Clinic, Animal Health Center of Marion County, Marion Body Shop, Cooperative Grain & Supply, Deer Trail Implement, Williams Service, and Brookens & Collett.

Businesses who donated items to be sold at the auction included Ampride, Carlsons' Grocery, Animal Health Center, Straub International, Main Street Flowers, Seacat Hardware, Marion Pharmacy, Western Associates, Tampa State Bank, Gene's Travel, Gambino's Pizza, Marion Auto Supply, The Big Scoop, Cooperative Grain & Supply, and Quick Flick.
