FFA members take part in community service day

Marion-Florence FFA members painted house numbers on curbs Thursday as part of a community service day activity.

More than 300 house numbers were re-painted.

The goal of the FFA chapter's curb painting project is to provide clearly visible numbers for EMS responders to quickly find a location. Another benefit of the project is to make it easier for visitors to find a specific address since not all house numbers are clearly displayed.

The FFA chapter re-painted several sections of town that were starting to fade including houses in Jex Addition, South Third and Fourth streets, the Valley section of town, and Cedar, Roosevelt, Freeborn, and Coble streets.

This activity was completed in conjunction with the school-wide community service day.
