Fike farm reaches century mark
The farm of Warren and Paula Fike of Ramona recently was designated as a Farm Bureau Century Farm.
The Fikes were presented with a display sign Saturday at the annual Marion County Farm Bureau meeting in Marion.
The farm was purchased in 1907 by J.K. and Priscilla (Hostetter) Fike and the house was built that year. The Fikes were Warren's grandparents.
He grew up on the farm, which was passed on to his parents, Floyd and Vinnie Fike.
Warren and Paula have lived there since his father's death in 1954. They raised seven children: Linda Peterson, Burdick; Sandra Deines, Lawrence; Carla Collett, Marion; Glenda Jirak, Glade; Gary Fike and Dennis Fike, Westmoreland; and Sara Eells, Topeka.
