Fine arts center construction progressing

The new fine arts center, which is located between the middle school and the current high school gym, is about ready for the next phase of construction.

Hett Construction has almost completed the footings, foundations, and floor pouring for the auditorium, which means it's time for the steel columns and steel framing to be erected.

The delivery of the steel framing is scheduled for this week. When the framing is delivered, contractors will begin erecting the steel portion of the auditorium using a large crane to maneuver the pieces of steel into place.

The end of this week and the beginning of next week should be exciting days for patrons to drive by the performing arts site to observe the construction progress and to watch the large crane handle the massive pieces of steel.

I want to compliment Dave Hett and all of his crew for the outstanding concrete work they have completed thus far. Throughout the fine arts center, there are numerous angles, various floor elevations, slopes, and critical measurements that had to be exact.

Dave and his crew have mastered the complex layout of the building and they have provided an excellent beginning to this prestigious building.
