Five Warriors named all-league

Seniors Toni Gordon, Allie Maddox, and Megan Hudson of the girls' team, and juniors Jason and Travis Hett of the boys' team are five athletes from Marion High School named to all-league teams.

Jason was named to the second-team all-Mid-Central Activities Association team. He averaged a team-high 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds. He also averaged 2.1 steals and blocks.

Travis earned a spot on the honorable mention team. His 12.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game enabled him to be one of the top four players on the honorable mention squad.

With seven members on the first and second teams, the players were named two of the top 18 players in a league that sent three teams to their respective state tournaments.

Gordon and Maddox enjoyed similar seasons as the two best players on the girls' team. Both were named to the all-league second team.

Maddox led the team in scoring with 15.7 points while adding 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals per contest.

Gordon was just behind Maddox at 15.2 points per game, and was tied for the team lead with 6.4 rebounds per game. She also was the only Warrior to average more than one block per game, recording 1.5 blocks per contest.

Despite playing just 10 games before a knee injury, Hudson was named to the honorable mention team.

She led the team with 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game. She also chipped in with 7.4 points per game.

All three players will graduate in May.
