Florence Macy

Florence Elizabeth Macy, 95, died Feb. 6, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Marion.

Born Nov. 2, 1912, at Codell, she was the daughter of W.A. and Agnes (King) Barry.

She attended school at Codell and Hays. Upon graduation she attended Fort Hays State University and then the Denver Opportunity School.

She taught school and worked in a bank until her marriage, then was a homemaker.

On Aug. 7, 1936, she married F. Warren Macy at Codell. The couple lived most of their married life at Hays, moving to Marion in 2003 to be closer to family.

She was a member of Hays United Methodist Church and Valley United Methodist Church, Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and granddaughter, Lisa Wilson-Ragsdale.

Survivors include her children, Harold and Judy Macy of Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Canada, and Margaret and Rex Wilson of Marion; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley United Methodist Church.

Memorial funds have been established with the church, Marion City Library, or Marion Central Park Improvement Committee.
