Florence tree lighting will feature Santa
Members of the Florence Chamber of Commerce Christmas committee have announced that the annual lighting ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
A new metal sculpture Christmas tree will be positioned in the intersection at Fifth and Main streets. Community members and friends are invited to attend the lighting ceremony and watch for Santa's arrival.
"We will have community caroling and Bennie Holtzclaw will be on hand to lead us," said chairman Sara Neal. "There will be an old-fashioned surrey for pictures with Santa and we will have holiday treats, hot cocoa, and cider.
"It'll be a nice community event and we hope everyone will turn out for it."
