Forensics team takes first at tournament
Marion High School forensics team placed first Saturday at the Northern Heights tournament.
Team members who received medals were Michael Brookens, first in solo humorous; Clay Riggs, sixth in solo humorous; Logan Fowler, first in solo serious; Laura Holt, second in solo serious, and sixth in prose; Elisa Gayle and Luke Bowers, fourth in duet acting, and fourth in IDA; Jordan Timm and Michael Brookens, second in IDA; Jordan Timm, first in poetry; Megan Hudson, fourth in poetry; Zach Helmstead, sixth in informative; Nikki Johnson, fifth in informative; Lee Ownbey, fifth in extemporaneous; and Lena O'Connor, sixth in extemporaneous.
The forensics team will travel Saturday to Council Grove.
