Forged check passed at local restaurant in Hillsboro

Sonic Drive-In of Hillsboro reported to the Hillsboro Police Department Dec. 5, that a forged check was passed at the restaurant. A possible suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.

Dec. 4: Officers searched for a wanted person in the 400 block of South Birch Street. Responded to a business alarm that was activated in Hillsboro Heights. A Marion County Sheriff's deputy received assistance with a possible DUI. Assistance was provided with a vehicle drug search on D Street. Responded to a business alarm that was activated in Hillsboro Heights.

Dec. 5 A cooler was stolen from a parked vehicle in the 100 block of North Washington Street; the loss was valued at $45. A person filed an indecent liberties complaint regarding an incident that occurred in Wichita; the complaint was referred to those authorities. Suspicious activity was reported at Birch and D streets.

Dec. 6: Subjects were fingerprinted for employment purposes. A raccoon that was possibly ill in the 200 block of East E Street was disposed. A skunk was reported in a Dumpster at Hillsboro Elementary School. A report was made of an individual shooting paintballs at a sign on 190th Road, near city limits. Emergency medical services crew received assistance on a call in the 200 block of East Grand Street.

Dec. 7: A dog complaint in the 300 block of North Washington Street was filed. Response was given to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Birch Street.

Dec. 8: Damage was reported in the 100 block of East Grand Street. EMS received assistance on a call in the 300 block of South Elm Street. A minor non-injury accident occurred at D and Elm streets. A domestic disturbance call was answered in the 300 block of North Birch Street.

Dec. 9: A lost dog was picked up in the 300 block of South Ash Street. Assistance was given to an incompetent driver complaint.

Dec. 10: Response was provided to domestic disturbance calls in the 300 block of North Birch and 400 block of West Grand streets. A water leak was located in the 900 block of East D Street.

Dec. 11: A follow-up reported was made regarding a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Birch Street. An officer responded to a report of juveniles on the ponds at the park. The K-9 unit performed a vehicle search. A sheriff's deputy received assistance with a domestic disturbance.

Dec. 12: A confused driver on U.S.-56 received assistance. A report was made of suspicious activity in the 300 block of South Ash Street. Complaints were filed of noise in the 400 block of North Ash Street, and a dog in the 400 block of South Date Street.

Dec. 13: A local business received assistance with a drug search. Complaints were made regarding a traffic concern in the 700 block of East A Street, and a dog in the 200 block of East First Street. A business alarm was activated in the 500 block of East Grand Street. A report of a possible structure fire was made in the 300 block of South Cedar Street.

Dec. 14: Assistance was provided to court services with an investigation. A dog complaint was made in the 300 block of West Third Street. Assistance was given regarding a landlord and tenant dispute. A possible fire was reported in the 300 block of South Ash Street.

Thursday: A theft was reported at First and Adams streets. Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of South Cedar Street.

Friday: Assistance was given regarding a landlord and tenant dispute. A parking complaint was made in the 100 block of South Adams Street. An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street.
