Four generations of Hedstroms have reunion

Four generations of the descendants of Emil and Ida Hedstrom of Burdick met for a family reunion during the Labor Day weekend.

They gathered Saturday at Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast. First-generation cousins who came from Colorado, Texas, and Kansas shared family memories.

Also in attendance were Ralph and Phyllis Hedstrom. Ralph, 87, is the last living child of Emil and Ida.

On Sunday, family members attended the community worship service and enjoyed a noon meal and more reminiscing at Hebron Lutheran Church, Burdick.

On display was the original wedding gown worn by Ida Holscher Hedstrom, Dec. 31, 1902.

The family gathered Sunday evening at the home of Bruce and Alona Hedstrom, rural Lost Springs, for a meal and photographs.

They attended the Burdick Labor Day celebration on Monday. Ralph and Phyllis rode in the parade in the Hedstrom's century-old buggy restored by Byron Hedstrom.

Those who attended the reunion were: Bruce and Alona Hedstrom, Lost Springs; Byron and Jeane Hedstrom, Mulvane; Bradley Hedstrom, Emporia; Reed and Pat Lemons and Ralph and Phyllis Hedstrom, Rockwall, Texas; Larry and Barbara Foos, Littleton, Colo.; Doris Kuchar, Hillsboro; Mark and Sheri Rocha and children, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Jeff and Tana Riffel and children, Lincolnville; Corey and Leslie Krehbiel and children, Kingman; and Todd and Darla Hedstrom and children, Derby.
