Fred Utech
Fred E. Utech, 85, Ramona, died April 11, 2008, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
Born Feb. 25, 1923, near Tampa, he was the son of William and Marie (Schlesener) Utech.
He graduated from Tampa High School in 1941.
On June 25, 1944, he married Marguerite Bayes in Dickinson County.
The couple resided and farmed in the Ramona and Tampa area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Erich Utech; and three sisters, Judith Carstens, Marie Hill, and Esther Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite of Ramona; two sons, Garland of Amsterdam, Mo., and Marion of Collierville, Tenn.; daughter, Jeanetta Hanschu of Ramona; four sisters, Edna Mueller of Tampa, Erna Peterson of Osage City, Dolores Siggs of Goddard, and Grace Raven of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Bill and Junior Utech, both of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, Hope, with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating. Burial was in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.
Memorial funds have been established with Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona, or Ramona Senior Center.
