Gary Harper

Gary L. Harper, 64, of Florence, died Nov. 12, 2006.

Born June 15, 1942, at Granite, Okla., he was the son of Lloyd and Hester (Hughes) Harper.

On June 11, 1962, he married Sandra Maxwell at Hext, Okla. The couple lived in Granite, then moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., for 13 years before moving to Florence in 1979.

He worked for Quality Oil Company as an area manager, overseeing 140 gas stations in six states. He later worked for Irv Schroeder County Motors, Hillsboro, until 2005, where he was one of the top salesmen for 11 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Junior Richardson, Doug Richardson, and Noah Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Florence; two sons, Bryan of Florence and Jeff of Marion; brother, John Harper of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Florence United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Cemetery, Granite, Okla.

Memorial funds have been established with the American Cancer Society or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
