Gas skip determined to be an equipment error

Marion Police Department investigated what appeared to be a gas skip Nov. 28 at a local business but it was determined to be a computer malfunction regarding a credit card.

Nov. 28: An officer attended district court. A warning citation for speeding was issued. A semi truck driver was issued a warning citation for operating the vehicle on a non-truck route without an exemption (local delivery only traffic).

Tuesday: A motorist who ran out of gas received assistance. Assistance was provided to an ambulance crew on a run. A funeral escort was provided. A gas skip was investigated.

Wednesday: Recovered property was returned to the owner. A court services officer received assistance. Follow-up interviews were conducted. A citizen who was locked out of a residence received assistance.

Thursday: A juvenile who was late in returning home was located and returned to the residence. An emergency message was delivered. A follow-up was conducted regarding a battery case.

Friday: Inspections of vehicle identification numbers was conducted. An officer responded to a business alarm that was activated; everything was OK.

Saturday: A funeral escort was provided. A municipal court civil process was served. An officer responded to a resident regarding a civil matter that involved a renter. Response was given to an activated business alarm; everything was OK.

Sunday: A civil stand-by was conducted. A stranded motorist was assisted. A warning citation for speeding was issued.

Officers drove 737 miles and issued three warning citations.
