George Thye
George R. Thye, 92, died Jan. 7, 2007, at Cedars Health Care Center, McPherson.
Born Feb. 1, 1914, near Hillsboro, he was the son of George and Marie (Moehlman) Thye.
On June 9, 1935, he married Mildred Dahlinger at McPherson. She died in 2005.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; son, G. Douglas Thye; two brothers, Rudalph and Harry Thye; and four sisters, Matilda Hauck, Martha Schroeder, Elizabeth Christensen, and Edna Vogt.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Thyr of McPherson; son, Max Thye of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Janet Keazer of Marion; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at First Baptist Church, McPherson, with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating.
Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with First Baptist Church, McPherson.
