Gladys Klein
Gladys Mae Klein, 90, lifelong Marion County resident, died Oct. 26, 2006, at Marion Assisted Living Center.
She was born May 24, 1916, in rural Marion County to Karl and Hannah (Weber) Schlotthauer. She attended Dobbs School in the Strassburg community, and after graduating from the eighth grade, worked at home on the family farm.
On May 19, 1937, she married Fred Klein at the home of the local minister in rural Marion. Fred died in December 1991.
Gladys was a member of Marion Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Olsen and husband Jerry, of rural Marion; a son, Ralph and wife Barbara of Marion; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Marion Christian Church, with the Rev. Carl Helm officiating. Interment was in Marion Cemetery.
