If you happened to drive by Thursday you would have seen a group of barefoot residents with their feet in wading pools of cool water, eating frozen fruit pops. They were celebrating the first day of summerand had a great time. The weather was perfect.
The Josh Bryant family again hosted Friday night bingo June 15. The three Bryant boys also call bingo during the week for one of their summer activities when they are in town. The residents really like it when young people come to visit.
Sandy Brown, the beautician, is in house every Wednesday and many men look sharp with new haircuts and happy women with fresh wash and sets, perms, and haircuts. Looking good makes the body feel better. All of Sandy's patrons vouch for that! The fingernail lady was in several times cutting, filing, and painting nails.
Dick Pracht was in Wednesday morning for his weekly hymn and Bible readings.
The therapy area has been expanded so now we have a double work area to accommodate residents and outpatients coming in and still preserve the privacy of the residents.
Occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy are offered. Our staff consists of Phil Smith RPt, Brenda Herrington PtA, DeVona Roble OtR, Chastity Briscoe OtA, and Jill Lathen SLP.
They are available seven days a week as needed but normal times are five days a week. Medicare B pays 80 percent with supplement insurance picking up the remaining cost for services. Come see the new addition.
While being happy with our enlarged area, we are sad to be losing Patti Shelton PtA team leader. She has been here for three years and was instrumental in setting up the new area. She has been transferred to the Newton and Peabody areas. She had a great rapport with both staff and clients. She will be missed.
The reservoir was the first stop for the Friday luncheon group. They delivered the bags they had filled to the gatekeeper to hand out to all campers visiting the lake this weekend. The bags are filled with articles from the chamber of commerce. Lunch was enjoyed at The Big Scoop.
