Gonzales, Slagle exchange vows in Dec. 23 ceremony years ago

Yvette Gonzales and Travis Slagle were married at 6 p.m. Dec. 23, 2005, in the backyard of the groom's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Lupe and Libby Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas. Grandmothers of the bride who attended the ceremony were Olivia Esparza and Nema Gonzales, both of Brownsville, Texas.

The groom is the son of Terry and Cindy Slagle of San Antonio, Texas. His grandmothers are Peggy Thies and Louise Slagle, both of Salina.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an elegant ivory silk strapless gown. She wore a handmade tiara of baby's breath.

Her flowers were fashioned in a nosegay style of ivory roses, baby's breath, and ivy.

Amanda Gonzales of Unity, Maine, was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a strapless burgundy satin gown and carried a bouquet similar to the bride's.

Justin Slagle of Tucson, Ariz., served his brother as best man.

Samantha Gobler of Austin, Texas, was the flower girl.

Guests were seated by Matthew Mitchell of Edmond, Okla.

Katie Thies of Olathe was the guest book attendant.

A reception buffet dinner and dance followed the ceremony.

The bride and groom both graduated from Texas State University and are employed at Alternative Youth Adventures, Montrose, Colo.

The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to Arizona and Mexico before returning to their home in Montrose, Colo.

Out-of-town guests attending the wedding and Christmas activities included Charlie, Stephanie, and Katie Thies of Olathe, Mackie, Sandy, Alee, and Matthew Mitchell of Edmond, Okla., Paul and Patti Pensabene of Holbrook, N.Y., and Peggy Thies and Louise Slagle of Salina.
