Groneman, Hite exchange vows July 16 at Emporia church years ago

Nancy Groneman and Robert E. Hite, both of Emporia, were married July 16 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Emporia.

The Rev. Don Conrad officiated at the four o'clock double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Esther Groneman of Lincolnville and the late Arthur A. Groneman. The groom is the son of the late Robert and Edith Hite.

Harp music was provided by Abby Treimer of Council Grove.

The bride wore a sleeveless sheath gown with a square-cut neckline. The bodice, skirt, and chapel-length train were embellished with lace appliqués and the gown was covered with a net overlay beaded in crystals and pearls. She wore a tiara encrusted with pearls and rhinestones that held the two-tiered white, cathedral-length veil.

Esther Groneman served her daughter as matron of honor.

The bride's brother, Arthur W. Groneman of Lincolnville, served as best man.

A champagne reception and dinner followed at the couple's home.

The bride has a doctorate in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a professor at Emporia State University.

Her husband has a doctorate in marketing from the University of Arkansas and is the dean of the school of business at Emporia State University.
