Harold Huntley
Harold "Buster" M. Huntley, 82, died May 31, 2005, at his home in Newton.
Born Aug. 25, 1922, at Florence, he was the son of Nim Rod and Gertrude (Horsley) Huntley.
On Aug. 14, 1943, he married Lois Weyand at Florence. She died in 2003.
"Buster" was a Florence fire chief and member of the ambulance rescue squad on a volunteer basis.
He was a member of the school board, Florence City Council, and Florence Christian Church board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, James Huntley; and sister, Gladys Sidener.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Lola Huntley and Dave and Erin Huntley, all of Newton, and Jack and Geri Huntley of Springfield, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Galen Hysom of Wichita; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at Florence Christian Church with the Rev. Peter Banning officiating.
Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
