Harvey Jantz

Harvey B. Jantz, 85, died May 3, 2006, at Moundridge Manor.

Born Feb. 12, 1921, in Marion County, he was the son of Ben T. and Lavina (Koehn) Jantz.

He was a farmer and longtime Tampa resident. He was a member of Lone Tree Church of God in Christ Mennonite, rural Galva.

On May 18, 1947, he married Madeline W. Schmidt at Galva.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Noah, Irvin, Abe, and Jonah Jantz; and a sister, Mildred Koehn.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline of Moundridge; three sons, Stanley and Gordon Jantz, both of Greeley, Colo., and Vincent Jantz of Tampa; two daughters, Janice Ralston of Long Beach, Calif., and Janell Unruh of Galva; two brothers, Obed Jantz of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Willard Jantz of Atwater, Calif.; two sisters, Amanda Wedel of Moundridge and Lela Wedel of Tampa; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Lone Tree Church of God in Christ Mennonite, rural Galva, with ministers Roger Unruh and Ransom Wiebe officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree Church Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Moundridge Manor.
