Havlik to observe 90th birthday years ago
Laddie Havlik of Kanopolis will celebrate his 90th birthday Jan. 29. Friends and relatives are invited to mark the occasion by sending cards to him at PO Box 292, Kanopolis 67454.
Born Jan. 29, 1917, at Bison, Okla., he served in World War II in both the U.S. Army and Army Air Force.
On April 15, 1953, he married Luetta Steele at Wichita. He was owner/operator of Tampa Lumber and Hardware at Tampa. In 1975, he moved to Kanopolis where he was employed by High Plains Sand and the City of Kanopolis. He retired in 1997.
His children are Jim and Linda Havlik of Dora, Ala., Carol and Gary Boyd of Glenrock, Wyo., and Anne and Verl Deming and Jane and Bob Kepka of Ellsworth. He also has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
